Jessica Cox
The first licensed armless pilot, author, advocate, mentor, and motivational speaker
Jessica Cox is a world record pilot, philanthropist, author, advocate, mentor, and motivational speaker from Arizona, USA. She envisions a world in which individuals enthusiastically follow their aspirations while being resilient in the face of adversity. Born without arms, she learnt to overcome physical barriers by efficiently utilizing, adapting and applying the physical domains, and more crucially, she developed mental perspective, allowing her to reach seemingly unattainable goals. As a result, she became the first licensed armless pilot in aviation history, and she has used aviation as a tool to help combat stigma, stereotyping, and discrimination against disability, as well as to challenge attitudinal barriers that exist all around the world. Her accomplishments have earned her a Guinness World Record title, have become a trending subject on Facebook, and have been featured on several major television shows. She also gives back to the global disability community as a Goodwill Ambassador for the Nobel Prize-winning NGO, Humanity and Inclusion, an anti-bullying crusader, and the director of the International Child Amputee Network.
