Over the years, there has been an increasing number of conflicts which greatly affect the world, such as the trade war between the US and China. In addition, there are long-standing and difficult-to-resolve conflicts such as those between North and South Korea; China and Tibet; the Israeli-Palestinian conflict; friction between the Burmese and ethnic minorities in Myanmar; tension between Pakistan and India; and Japan and South Korea.

These situations are reflected in the Global Peace Index (GPI). The 2022 GPI indicates that the world became less peaceful for the eleventh time in the last 14 years, with the average level of country peacefulness deteriorating by 0.3 per cent over the past year. In total, peacefulness improved in 90 countries and deteriorated in 71, highlighting the fact that falls in peacefulness are generally larger than improvements. Read More!
