Session 4: Reinventing Public Policies to Strengthen Human-Centred Development for Peace

To ensure that policies and programs are designed and implemented with the needs and well-being of individuals and communities at the forefront is critical. By focusing on human-centred development, policies can more effectively address the root causes of conflict and promote sustainable peace. It also allows the creation of inclusive policies that take into account the perspectives and needs of marginalized groups and ensures that everyone has access to the resources and opportunities they need to thrive. Furthermore, by discussing reinventing public policies to strengthen human-centred development for peace, it is possible to identify ways to improve existing policies and to develop new approaches that can more effectively promote peace and sustainable development.

  • What are the key elements of human-centred development policies, and how can they be integrated into existing policy frameworks?
  • How can public policies be redesigned to prioritize human-centred development for peace?
  • How can governments ensure that their policies are inclusive, taking into account the needs and perspectives of marginalized groups?
  • How can the private sector be engaged to support human-centred development for peace?
  • What role can civil society organizations play in promoting human-centred development policies?
