Session 5: Revitalizing Post-Crisis Tourism Sector for Nation – Building in the World of Flux

The pandemic has had the effect of a tsunami on world tourism, an industry that has virtually and disastrously vanished. There are many countries which relied heavily on the tourism industry and have suffered severe consequences, not least due to the problem of unpredictability brought about by the pandemic. Loss of tourism revenue affects the whole supply chain of the economy. People who rely on tourism income are withered and helpless. This session explores the light at the end of the tunnel for revitalizing the post-crisis tourism sector.

  • Will these economies still be able to rely on the tourism sector in the future?
  • How will tourism patterns change and what will be the next trend?
  • What must tourism operators adapt to in the world of flux?
  • How can governments support the tourism industry to expedite the recovery?
