Session 7: Enhancing the Resilience of Large Enterprises and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises for Nation-Building in the World of Flux
The world is entering a new mode of operations – a digital economy, AI, robotics, blockchain, ‘internet of things’, sensorisation, etc. This change puts pressure on business, no matter what size they are – Large Enterprises (LEs) and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). All need a way to transform themselves to fit with the new rules of the game. As the future world will be in flux, new challenges require business to be more agile and resilient to thrive within this new business world. Changing socio-economic conditions will also create new business opportunities thus requiring ways of conducting business and new thinking of public policies to promote and support entrepreneurs. This session discusses the following key issues:
- What will be the key challenges for businesses and nations and what will the new rules of the game be for LEs and MSMEs in the world of flux?
- Which public policies should be enacted that will effectively enhance LEs’ and MSMEs’ resilience in the world of flux?
- What are the key strategies for business transformation to allow more agility and resilience given the new environment in the world of flux?
